Alex and Evan’s day at The Riverhouse in Haddam, Connecticut, was exactly that — a day filled with anticipation, emotion, laughter, family, and the kind of moments that deserve to be remembered exactly as they happened.
The day began at the Sheraton Hartford South, where the morning slowly started to come alive. Evan was getting ready with the guys while Alex prepared with her girls, surrounded by the people who had been there long before the wedding day ever arrived. The energy shifted as everyone got closer to the moment they had been waiting for.
At 7:00 PM, the room shifted into celebration mode with introductions, the first dance, parent dances, and heartfelt toasts. From there, the energy only continued to build. The table dash brought everyone together, followed by a quick escape for sunset portraits — one of those intentional pauses where Alex and Evan could step away from the crowd and simply be together.
Then it was time to get back to the party.
Dancing kicked off at 8:00 PM, followed by cake cutting and even more time on the dance floor. The night carried on with laughter, movement, and the people who made this chapter of their lives so special.
By 9:30 PM, coverage came to an end — but the story was far from over.
Alex and Evan’s wedding day was more than a timeline. It was a collection of fleeting moments: the nerves before the first look, the tears from family, the excitement of walking down the aisle, the quiet moments together at sunset, and the absolute chaos and joy of celebrating with the people they love.
And those are the moments worth remembering.
Across the property, Evan and the guys arrived, ready to officially get the celebration started. After groomsmen photos and portraits of Evan, the anticipation built toward the first look. A first look with Dad came first, followed by a first look with Evan — creating two completely different but equally meaningful moments. The nerves, excitement, and emotion all came together before the ceremony even began.
Once the bridal party and family photos were complete, we had a little time to document the details of the ceremony space before guests arrived. At 5:30 PM, Alex and Evan finally stood together in front of the people they love most and said, “I do.”
After the ceremony, the celebration continued with family photos, including a special family portrait with Grandma at the altar. Then came cocktail hour — a chance for everyone to breathe, reconnect, and celebrate before the reception officially began.
