Their entire celebration took place indoors, and from beginning to end, the day felt warm, intimate, emotional, and completely full of life.

We started with the quiet anticipation of getting ready. Those early hours always carry a different kind of energy — the nerves, the excitement, the final touches, and the little moments with family before everything begins. Marissa and Harry each had time to take in the day separately before sharing their first looks and stepping into everything they had been waiting for.

Marissa and Harry’s winter wedding at The Barns at Wesleyan Hills in Middletown, Connecticut, was the kind of day that proved you do not need warm weather or sunshine to create something unforgettable.

The Barn’s at Wesleyan Hills • Middletown, CT

The room was packed, the energy stayed high, and everyone was fully in it. Those are some of my favorite reception moments to photograph because nothing feels staged. People are moving, laughing, celebrating, and completely forgetting about the camera. That is when the photographs start to feel less like pictures and more like memories.

What I loved most about Marissa and Harry’s wedding was how much variety the day held within one space. It moved from quiet and emotional to romantic and almost cinematic, then finished with an incredible celebration.
Their winter wedding was proof that the season does not define the feeling of a wedding day. The people do.

From getting ready and first looks to glowing portraits, family moments, heartfelt words, first dances, and a completely unforgettable dance floor, Marissa and Harry created a day that felt warm, personal, and entirely their own.

White draping framed the room while hundreds of warm lights glowed overhead, creating a scene that felt almost unreal. It had this soft, fairytale quality that made the space feel romantic without trying too hard. With the winter weather outside and all that warmth inside, it became the perfect backdrop for their portraits.

Their ceremony brought everyone together in that same glowing space, surrounded by the people who had come to celebrate them. Afterward, the day moved naturally into family photos, portraits, and then the reception.

The reception was where the energy really changed.

Heartfelt toasts brought plenty of emotion and laughter, and their first dances gave everyone a chance to slow down and take in the moment. Then the dance floor opened, and the night took on a completely different personality.
The dancing was epic.

One of the most memorable parts of the day was photographing Marissa and Harry inside the ceremony space. The Barns at Wesleyan Hills completely transformed once the lights came on.

They chose to keep their wedding intimate without a traditional bridal party, surrounding themselves instead with the family and friends who meant the most to them. hat choice gave the day such a personal feeling. There was time for meaningful family photos, time for the two of them to be together, and room for the moments in between to happen naturally.
